Message	Pre-heating is the other half. When I v-banded my LS manifolds for my 240 I cooked them for about 30 mins or so at 500. I welded about 1/2 of the vband on and then put it back in the oven and worked on the other manifold. I cycled them a few times and then let them cool to the touch in the oven.
